Evaluation of Waterproof and Rustproof Performance of Embedded Handles

Introduction

Embedded handles are widely used in various industries, such as transportation, construction, and household appliances. However, the waterproof and rustproof performance of embedded handles is crucial for their durability and safety. Therefore, this article aims to evaluate the waterproof and rustproof performance of embedded handles.

Methodology

1. Sample preparation: Three types of embedded handles were selected as samples, including aluminum alloy handles, stainless steel handles, and plastic handles.

2. Waterproof test: The handles were immersed in water for 24 hours, and the water ingress was measured by weighing the handles before and after the test.

3. Rustproof test: The handles were exposed to a salt spray chamber for 48 hours, and the rust formation was evaluated by visual inspection and rust thickness measurement.

Results and Discussion

1. Waterproof performance: The aluminum alloy handles showed the highest water ingress, followed by the stainless steel handles and plastic handles. The results indicate that the material composition of the handles affects their waterproof performance.

2. Rustproof performance: The stainless steel handles showed the best rustproof performance, with no visible rust formation and the thinnest rust layer. The plastic handles also showed good rustproof performance, while the aluminum alloy handles had significant rust formation and a thick rust layer. The results suggest that the material composition of the handles and the environmental conditions affect their rustproof performance.

3. Implications: Based on the results, it is recommended to use stainless steel handles for applications that require high waterproof and rustproof performance. Plastic handles can also be used for less demanding applications. However, aluminum alloy handles should be avoided in environments with high humidity and salt exposure.
