Research on Dust-proof and Easy-to-clean Performance of Bow-shaped Handles

Introduction

Bow-shaped handles are commonly used in various household appliances, such as refrigerators, ovens, and microwaves. However, the dust accumulation and difficult-to-clean properties of these handles have become a major issue for consumers. Therefore, this research aims to explore the dust-proof and easy-to-clean performance of bow-shaped handles.

Methodology

1. A series of experiments were conducted to evaluate the dust accumulation on bow-shaped handles. The handles were exposed to different environments, including a dusty room, a kitchen, and a laboratory.

2. The cleaning performance of different materials and methods were tested on the dust-covered handles. Materials used included microfiber cloth, sponge, and paper towel, while methods tested included dry wiping, wet wiping, and vacuuming.

3. The surface properties of bow-shaped handles were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and contact angle measurements to investigate the relationship between surface properties and dust accumulation.

Results and Discussion

4. The results showed that bow-shaped handles accumulated more dust compared to straight handles in all tested environments. The dusty room had the highest dust accumulation, followed by the kitchen and the laboratory.

5. Wet wiping with a microfiber cloth was found to be the most effective cleaning method, while vacuuming was the least effective. The material of the cleaning tool also played a significant role in cleaning performance, with microfiber cloth being the most effective material.

6. SEM analysis revealed that the surface roughness of bow-shaped handles was higher than that of straight handles, which may contribute to the higher dust accumulation. Contact angle measurements showed that the surface of bow-shaped handles had lower hydrophobicity, indicating that it was easier to clean with water-based cleaning methods.

7. Based on these findings, it is recommended that manufacturers improve the surface properties of bow-shaped handles to reduce dust accumulation and make them easier to clean. Consumers should also use microfiber cloths and wet wiping methods for optimal cleaning performance.
